MarkMail Meets Java

MarkMail, arguably the coolest thing to happen to mailing lists since, well...since mailing lists, just got even cooler. Thanks to the assistance provided by Marla Parker , Jason Hunter and his team at MarkLogic were recently able to load the java.net mailing lists. This load has made nearly 1,000,000 messages available to be searched and analyzed!

Why does this matter, you ask? Simply put, MarkMail provides a cool, powerful web interface for searching millions of emails messages, posted in thousands of separate mailing lists. Not only does MarkMail provide you the ability to find the answer to questions such as "How many commits happened on a Glassfish project in 2008? " you can now do so in a single search.

While the MarkMail interface is intuitive enough that you can easily enter a few search terms and then quickly refine your searches via a few clicks, I strongly recommend that you spend just a little time learning to harness its full power. In order to help you do that, the MarkMail team has convieniently provided a help icon just to the right of the search box. A single click on that question mark icon will put you well on your way to mastering MarkMail!
